Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS) has officially rolled out a specialized Short-Term Warehousing Solution at the AISATS BLR Logistics Park inside Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. The newly introduced service model is designed to provide freight forwarders, third-party logistics (3PL) operators, and export-import (EXIM) enterprises with on-demand, scalable storage capacity tailored to fluctuating supply chain cycles.
Traditional airport-adjacent warehousing contracts typically require multi-year lock-in periods and fixed minimum space commitments, creating financial and operational rigidity for businesses facing unpredictable cargo volumes. Under AISATS’s new flexible framework, customers can lease Grade-A warehousing space on short-term, modular, or pay-per-use arrangements to accommodate peak-season inventory build-ups, project cargo staging, and urgent airfreight consolidations.
Located directly within the Kempegowda International Airport campus, the AISATS BLR Logistics Park spans an expansive multi-acre footprint featuring modern high-bay racking, dock levelers, automated material-handling systems, and 24/7 customs-aligned security protocols. Its immediate proximity to the airport’s air cargo terminals allows shippers to drastically reduce first-mile and last-mile drayage times between warehouse racks and aircraft belly-hold or freighter loading bays.
The launch is particularly timely for Southern India’s high-tech manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, pharmaceutical, and apparel export clusters. As manufacturers ramp up outbound shipments ahead of the global holiday retail season and domestic festive peaks, the ability to secure temporary buffer storage directly at the aviation gateway helps prevent factory floor bottlenecks and costly demurrage charges inside core terminal transit sheds.
Beyond standard dry pallet storage, the short-term warehousing offering integrates value-added logistics capabilities, including cargo deconsolidation, labeling, repacking, kitting, and real-time inventory visibility through AISATS’s digital warehouse management system (WMS). Freight forwarders handling multi-vendor buyer consolidations can utilize the space to assemble full unit load devices (ULDs) prior to tendering cargo for flight departure.
Industry analysts note that Bengaluru continues to rank among Asia-Pacific’s top logistics rental growth markets as demand for institutional warehousing near major transport nodes outpaces supply
