Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Bags Five-Year Patrol Boat and Manning Contract to Strengthen Port Security and Surveillance at Paradip Port

PARADIP — Expanding its footprint in specialized marine operational services, marine engineering specialist Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Limited (KMEW) has officially secured a confirmed work order valued at ₹11,41,01,079 (approximately ₹11.41 crore, inclusive of GST) from the Paradip Port Authority (PPA).

The contract spans a period of five years and involves the hiring and deployment of a high-performance, 25-knot speed patrol-cum-chase boat complete with an experienced professional manning crew.

Enhancing Port Security and ISPS Compliance

The newly commissioned patrol asset is engineered to bolster the port’s rapid-response capabilities, coastal security surveillance, and overall regulatory adherence under the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. Paradip Port, serving as one of India's premier high-volume dry and liquid bulk gateways on the Eastern Seaboard, manages dense commercial shipping traffic that requires round-the-clock water-side monitoring and escort logistics.

To execute the mandate, KMEW intends to construct the specialized patrol vessel in-house through its dedicated shipbuilding subsidiary, Knowledge Shipyard Private Limited (KSPL). This vertically integrated approach demonstrates the company's growing capacity to combine shipbuilding expertise with long-term operational service contracts.

Order Book Expansion and Revenue Visibility

Company management noted that this repeat order from the Paradip Port Authority further strengthens KMEW’s growing order pipeline, complementing its capital-intensive dredging and recent passenger ferry construction wins. The ₹11.41 crore agreement adds stable, long-term service revenue visibility, reinforcing the firm's strategic diversification into recurring, operational marine support services alongside its core infrastructure projects.
