NEW DELHI — The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) is accelerating the rollout of its "plug-and-play" industrial ecosystem, a cornerstone of the Union Government’s "Make in India" and "Aatmanirbhar Bharat" (Self-Reliant India) initiatives. By pre-developing land, utilities, and infrastructure, the corporation aims to eliminate the traditional bottlenecks—such as delays in land acquisition and fragmented utility connections—that have historically hindered industrial expansion in India.

Strategic Multi-Modal Hubs

As part of this expansion, NICDC is focusing heavily on developing robust multi-modal logistics infrastructure designed to lower trade costs and improve transit efficiency. Key developments currently in the active pipeline include:

Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (IMLH), Nangal Chaudhary, Haryana: Serving as a crucial node to facilitate seamless movement between industrial parks and northern distribution networks.

Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (MMLH), Dadri, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh: This facility is engineered to function as a "dry port," integrating comprehensive freight handling, rail-side connectivity, and high-velocity customs clearance capabilities to serve as a critical outlet for industrial goods moving toward major seaports.

The "Plug-and-Play" Advantage

These industrial nodes are built to provide a ready-to-use environment where manufacturers can initiate operations almost immediately upon arrival. This ecosystem approach is currently being implemented across 20 major projects in 13 states. Furthermore, the NICDC is supporting the textile sector by acting as the Project Management Agency for seven PM MITRA (Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) Parks, which integrate manufacturing and logistics within concentrated clusters.

Leveraging Digital Integration

To further enhance competitiveness, NICDC is integrating advanced digital tools, most notably the Logistics Data Bank (LDB) 2.0, which provides end-to-end visibility of containerized trade. Additionally, the corporation is utilizing 360-degree Virtual Reality (VR) technology to allow global stakeholders to remotely explore infrastructure sites, streamlining the investment decision-making process.

By synchronizing industrial parks with high-capacity rail, road, and port connectivity, NICDC’s strategy is aimed at reducing India’s logistics costs as a percentage of GDP, positioning the country as a more agile, resilient, and attractive destination for global manufacturing investment.
