The new facility, located in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, is designed to reduce logistical complexity by combining ocean freight, cabotage (coastal shipping), inland transport, and local warehousing into a single service window.</p><p data-path-to-node="6">The launch follows a major increase in regional cargo traffic, with Northeastern Brazil’s maritime and inland waterway freight hitting 329.7 million tonnes, alongside a 9% surge in container volumes.</p><h3 data-path-to-node="8"><b data-path-to-node="8" data-index-in-node="0">Modern Storage Metrics and Eco-Friendly Handling Assets to Support Diverse Industries</b></h3><p data-path-to-node="9">The strategically positioned hub introduces advanced warehouse management and green logistics practices to the region:</p><ul data-path-to-node="10"><li><p data-path-to-node="10,0,0"><b data-path-to-node="10,0,0" data-index-in-node="0">Proximity to Key Transport Nodes:</b> Built to support both domestic distribution and international trade flows, the facility is located approximately <b data-path-to-node="10,0,0" data-index-in-node="147">20 kilometers from the Port of Suape</b> and Recife International Airport. The primary target sectors utilizing the site include retail, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), technology, and the food and beverage industry.</p></li><li><p data-path-to-node="10,3,0"><b data-path-to-node="10,3,0" data-index-in-node="0">Commitment to Sustainable Operations:</b> In line with Maersk's global emission reduction goals, the distribution center uses energy-efficient LED lighting and advanced waste segregation systems. Additionally, all material handling and lifting equipment at the site is <b data-path-to-node="10,3,0" data-index-in-node="265">100% electric</b>, running on lithium-ion batteries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions during day-to-day operations.</p></li></ul>
