The minister highlighted that the establishment of seamless immigration infrastructures, automated baggage handling configurations, and specialized cold storage facilities at the terminal are essential to realizing Nagpur's geographical destiny as the "logistics capital" of India.

The implementation of direct routes to Singapore and Dubai is expected to provide an immediate boost to the Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN). Sourcing managers note that fresh agricultural goods, handloom textiles, and time-critical engineering components manufactured in the Vidarbha region currently suffer heavy transit delays and quality decay due to forced secondary cross-docking at congested airport hubs in Mumbai or Mumbai.

Public-Private Logistics Drive

Under the newly established GMR management blueprint, capital investments will focus heavily on creating advanced digital freight twins and expanding the automated air cargo handling complex. Gadkari stated that the union government would provide extensive administrative backing to ensure that international customs gates and digital clearance systems are fully synchronized to handle large-scale outbound freight.

"We have the location, the manufacturing clusters, and the land connectivity via the Dedicated Freight Corridors and highways," Gadkari stated during his address. "The missing link has been direct, unhindered access to international skies. Sourcing networks operating out of Central India will soon be able to load freight in Nagpur and have it land in Asian or Middle Eastern fulfillment centers within hours, dramatically compressing tracking overheads and expanding export margins."
